FLU SHOTS Information


Here are times, dates and locations that organizations are offering flu and/or pneumonia shots:

MAHONING COUNTY

The county’s district board of health is offering the flu shot for $25 at its clinics. Pneumonia shots also will be available at all clinics except the Canfield drive-through for $14.65. No appointment is necessary. People on traditional Medicare or Medicaid must bring their cards. All individuals with a driver’s license should bring it to the clinic.

Oct. 29: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Coitsville Township Hall, 3711 McCartney Road, Lowellville.

Oct. 30: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Poland Township Building, 3339 Dobbins Road.

Nov. 7: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Lake Milton Volunteer Fire Station, 15980 Milton Ave., Lake Milton.

Nov. 13: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Highway House at the Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown.

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown City Health District is offering flu and pneumonia shots. Flu shots are $10, and pneumonia shots are $30. There may be no out-of-pocket cost for Medicare Part B and Medicaid recipients, but they must bring their card to determine eligibility.

Oct. 27: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., ITAM Club, 115 S. Meridian Road.

TRUMBULL COUNTY

NILES

Friday: 1 to 3 p.m., 14 E. State St., SCOPE Senior Center. Shots are covered under Medicare and Anthem Senior Advantage; otherwise the cost is $20. Pneumonia shots are $15. A permission letter from a doctor is required, and an appointment is necessary. Call (330) 544-3676.

HOWLAND

Thursday: A flu vaccine clinic sponsored by Forum Health Austintown Immediate Care, WorkMED and Celtic Healthcare will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, 8747 Squires Lane N.E. The vaccines will be available for adults, age 18 and older. Traditional Medicare and Anthem Senior Advantage will be billed, upon presenting their card. For all others, there is a $25 payment.

GIRARD

Oct. 28: Girard Health Department offers flu shots for residents 50 and older and those with high-risk medical conditions, from 10 a.m. to noon at City Hall, 100 W. Main St. No appointments are being accepted, and the shots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis until the vaccine runs out. Insurance cards will be needed. Medicare, Anthem, Senior Advantage, Railroad Medicare and Medicaid are accepted. Everyone else will pay $20.

The Girard Senior Citizen Van will be available Oct. 28 for flu shots only. Call (330) 545-3306 to make arrangements. For additional information, call the health department at (330) 545-6048.
