Teamsters leader says McCain campaign is ‘desperate’
YOUNGSTOWN — The John McCain presidential campaign is getting “desperate” and is resorting to “name calling,” said James P. Hoffa, general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Republicans can’t talk about the economy because “it’s in the tank,” so they accuse Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, of either being a “socialist” or embracing socialist views, Hoffa said today.
The Teamsters, with 1.45 million members including 60,000 in Ohio, have endorsed Obama for president.
