3 injured after truck forces 2 cars off road

HOWLAND — Three people were injured after a commercial semi-truck forced their cars off the highway.

Two cars traveling east on state Route 82 just before 7 p.m. Monday were forced off the road into the barrier. Both cars rolled over, pinning the passengers inside.

Three people were taken to St. Joseph Health Center in Warren and treated for minor injuries.

Police said they do not know how many people were actually involved in the accident.

No names were available late Monday.

Howland Township police said the driver of the semi-truck did not stop. He was later located at Flying J truck stop in Hubbard. No other information on the truck driver was available.

The accident is being investigated by the Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
