FOWLER — Five fire departments worked to put out a fire at a Fowler Township home now considered a total loss.

The Cortland Fire Department was the first to respond at 3559 Everett-Hull Road at 4:34 p.m. Monday. The one-story ranch home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, prompting a request for help from stations in Fowler, Hartford and Johnston townships, as well as the 910th Air Reserve base in Vienna Township.

The departments fought the fire for more than five hours, leaving the site at 9:40 p.m. They have not released a damage estimate, but believe the three-bedroom home is a complete loss. Residents were not in the home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The Trumbull County Arson Task Force is investigating.
