ITCL ROUNDUP: Western Reserve beats Lowellville; Southern beats Jackson-Milton; United beats Lisbon; East Palestine beats Lisbon; Wellsville beats Sebring

LOWELLVILLE — Western Reserve High quarterback Shane Ewing passed for 262 yards in Friday’s 41-7 victory over Lowellville. Ewing completed 12 of 17 passes, including touchdown passes of 53 and 16 yards to Clayton Hull. Ewing also scored on a 1-yard run for the Blue Devils (7-2, 4-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Hull also caught a 17-yard TD strike from Justin Lude. Hull caught eight passes for 145 yards and Lude five for 135. Jim Perry caught a 23-yard TD pass from Anthony Schiraldi for the Rockets (2-7, 2-4) in the second quarter.

Southern 55, Jackson-Milton 22

NORTH JACKSON — Nathan Melhorn broke the Southern game rushing record with 309 yards on 28 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead the Indians to a rout. Melhorn had scoring runs of 42, 25, 8 and 47 yards as the Indians (6-3, 3-3 ITCL Tier Two) totaled 445 yards of offense and held the Bluejays to 245 yards, 85 on the ground. Mike McVay scored once and tossed a 10-yard scoring pass to Troy Griffith. Jackson-Milton (3-6, 1-5) got a pair of touchdowns from Jeff Balent on passes from Ben Carlile and Wilbur Wilson added another TD and a pair of two-point conversions.

Wellsville 60, Sebring 6

WELLSVILLE — The Tigers scored 36 points in the second quarter. Brandon Edison scored four touchdowns for the Tigers (7-2, 4-2 ITCL Tier Two) and finished with 126 yards on 10 carries. Quarterback Jeramy Carter had 102 yards rushing on five carries. Carter finished 5-9 for 85 yards. Wide Receiver DeShone Pullie caught three passes for 71 yards. The lone touchdown for the Trojans (0-9, 0-6) came on a 67-yard pass from Brandon Mitzel to Stephen Rastetter. Mitzel finished 10-20 for 146 and an interception. He also led Sebring rushers with 38 yards on 12 carries. Rastetter had five catches for 110 yards.

United 46, Lisbon 14

HANOVERTON — Ahead 19-14 at halftime, the Golden Eagles (6-3, 4-2 ITCL Tier One) pulled away with eight points in the third quarter and 19 more in the fourth. Marcus Chestnut scored on 4 and 48-yard touchdowns and Mike McLaughlin on runs of 37 and 5 yards.

East Palestine 38, Mineral Ridge 16

EAST PALESTINE — Shane Peterson scored touchdowns on runs covering 13, 46 and 35 yards for the Bulldogs (4-5, 3-3 ITCL Tier One). Peterson gained 137 yards on 11 carries. Dan Skiba hit Tom Padovani with a 4-yard scoring toss. Troy Cross kicked a 34-yard field goal and Jesse Garland scored on a 2-yard run for the Rams (3-6, 2-4).
