NORTH LIMA — Hunter Spitz scored on runs of 1, 20 and 60 yards Friday to lead the South Range High football team to a 29-22 victory over East Palestine.

Spitz finished with 131 yards on 15 carries after East Palestine’s early 9-0 lead.

Spitz’ 60-yard TD followed the second-half kickoff.

Also scoring for the Raiders were Nick Golec on a 5-yard run and Steve Cornish, who caught a conversion pass from Jack Dawson.

Golec, a tailback, rushed 13 times for 57 yards and had two receptions for 20 yards.

Sophomore defensive back Phillip Arsuffi intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble for South Range (5-2, 3-1 Inter Tri-County League Tier One).

Tom Delo and Ryan Dilworth tallied via the rush while Chris Hughes caught a 10-yard pass from Shane Peterson for touchdowns by East Palestine (2-5, 1-3 ITCL1).

United 13, Springfield 3

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Jeremy Walker caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Adam Lewis and Taylor Phillips made a place kick for the extra point to give the Golden Eagles (4-3, ITCL1 2-2) as 7-0 lead.

Bryan Visingardi kicked a 41-yard field goal for Springfield (4-3, 2-2) with 23 seconds remaining until intermission, but United’s Phillips returned the kickoff 93 yards for a TD with eight seconds left.

Columbiana 14, Mineral Ridge 0

COLUMBIANA — Brian Warchol scored on a 20-yard run with 38 seconds remaining in the first half.

Tyler DeJon caught a 20-yard TD strike from Jon Richey to give the Clippers (5-1, 3-1 ITCL1) insurance points.

Warchol rushed 10 times for 120 yards. The Clippers’ defense limited the Rams’ (3-3, 2-3) to 28 yards passing as he was able to complete only one of 13 passes.

Crestview 55, Lisbon 0

Leetonia 20, Lowellville 6

LOWELLVILLE — The Bears (6-1, 6-1 ITCL2) built a 20-0 lead by intermission. Josh Selway triggered the Leetonia attack as he rushed for 50 yards on 12 carries, which included a 27-yard TD run and he connected on 2 of 5 passes for 65 yards.

The Rockets (2-5, 2-2) had 315 total yards of offense. Joe Depasquale hit on 13 of 24 passes for 180 yards and John Vasilchek gained 67 yards on 12 rushes.

Wellsville 21, Jackson-Milton 12

NORTH JACKSON — Jeramy Carter’s 2-yard run and Bubba Dowling’s PAT with 4:35 remaining in the fourth quarter put Wellsville ahead for good, 15-12.

Mike Richardson finished off the scoring 55 seconds later when he recovered a fumble in the end zone.

Carter’s 23-yard run and Dowling’s conversion pass to DeShon Pullie in the second quarter put Wellsville up, 8-0, but Jackson-Milton scored twice to go ahead, 12-8.

Ben Carlile’s 1-yard run and Carlile’s 40-yard pass to Jeff Balent accounted for the only points by Jackson-Milton (2-5, 0-4 ITCL2).

Carter rushed 19 times for 123 yards, while Brandon Edison added 57 yards on 11 carries for the visitors (5-2, 2-2).

Carlile completed nine of 17 passes for 161 yards with Balent’s only other catch covering 15 yards.

Southern 42, Sebring 0

SALINEVILLE — Nathan Melhorn carried 16 times for 176 yards and three touchdowns and Southern (5-2, 2-2 ITCL 2) rolled up 396 yards on the ground.

Bryan Brinker added nine carries for 95 yards.

Sebring is 0-7, 0-4.
