NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Lawrence County dog licenses will be for sale starting Monday.

Renewal applications were mailed to dog owners last week, said county Treasurer Richard Rapone.

Licenses are for sale at the treasurer’s office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or through the mail to Lawrence County Treasurer, 430 Court St., New Castle, PA 16101. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the Lawrence County Treasurer.

Licenses cost $8 for intact animals; $6 for neutered males and spayed females; $6 for intact animals owned by senior citizens or disabled people; and $4 for neutered males and spayed females owned by seniors or disabled people.

Besides the treasurer’s office phone number, a second number has been added to the tags for pets lost or found after business hours or on weekends. The number is the county’s 911 emergency number.

The Pet Parlor, 4466 Mitchell Road, New Castle, is a new outside agent selling licenses this year. Other sales points are Critter Corner, 1001 Wilmington Avenue, New Castle, and the Lawrence County Humane Society, Pearson Mill Road, New Castle.
