Black Friday | Electronics sought at Trumbull County stores

NILES — Storefronts in The Eastwood Mall in Niles bore staggered lines of early shoppers for Black Friday this morning.

Department stores like Target and JC Penney, as well as specialty shops like Game Stop and Radio Shack boasted the most concentrated customers because of the rush for electronics this year, managers said.

Store manager Kathy Baca, who has 35 years with the Sears company, said this years biggest buys are in electronics and tools.

Tara Marshick of Howland said she arrived at 4:30 a.m. today to begin and finish her shopping in one trip.

“My son and daughter want the cool new things,” she said of a new iPod Touch and portable DVD player.

“Everyone’s got a discount on something and there are a lot of good deals,” Marshick said.

Store officials throughout the mall said turnout for Black Friday appears higher than in previous years.
