NORMAN, Okla. — Jessica Breland scored a career-high 31 points — including two key baskets in the final two minutes — as North Carolina won the Women’s Preseason NIT. Courtney Paris had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Oklahoma, extending her NCAA-record streak of double-doubles to 96. Her twin sister, Ashley Paris, also had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

No. 8 Stanford 81, No. 3 Rutgers 47

STANFORD, Calif. — Jayne Appel had 19 points and 14 rebounds to help Stanford rout Rutgers. Kayla Pedersen added 17 points for the Cardinal (3-1), who won their fourth straight over the Scarlet Knights.

No. 5 Tennessee 94, Louisiana Tech 59

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Vicki Baugh, in only her second game back after knee surgery, scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help Tennessee beat Louisiana Tech. Amber Gray and Alyssia Brewer each had 16 points to lead the Lady Vols.

HOUSTON — Rachel Allison scored 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, leading Baylor over Rice. Allison had her second double-double of the season by halftime, with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Melissa Jones added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Bears.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Kristi Toliver scored 26 points and passed another career milestone to lead Maryland. Toliver, who earlier this year became the program’s all-time assists leader, passed 1,500 points for her career, the 10th player in Maryland history to do so. Marissa Coleman added 22 points, passing 1,600 points for her career and moving into sixth-place all-time.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Jessica Minnfield scored 14 points for Michigan, which handed Vanderbilt its first loss of the season. Carly Benson had 10 and Stephany Skrba added eight for the Wolverines (2-2).

AUSTIN, Texas — Kathleen Nash and Brittainey Raven each scored 22 points to lead Texas over Furman. Melissa Liebschwager led Furman (3-1) with 14 points.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Sha Brooks scored 24 points to lead Florida to an upset over its rival. Jacinta Monroe led Florida State (3-1) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
