Greenville man accidentally shoots himself, dies of wound


GREENVILLE, Pa. — A Greenville man was killed when his gun accidentally went off while he was cleaning it.

Mercer County Deputy Coroner John Libonati said John McMarlin Jr., 78, of Main Street was found Friday by a family member in his basement workshop. He was pronounced dead at his home at 7:50 p.m.

The cause of death was an accidental gunshot wound to the chest, Libonati said.
