98 percent of Mooney grads plan to attend college
YOUNGSTOWN — Michael Zordich of Canfield is headed to Penn State University on an athletic scholarship.
Salutatorian Kristie Griffith of Youngstown will begin her studies to become an orthodontist at Walsh University in Canton next year.
Jeremy Frazer of Youngstown, student body president, is headed to Ohio University to study communications and public advocacy.
They are three of the 142-member 2008 Cardinal Mooney High School graduating class. Today’s ceremony at Stambaugh Auditorium marked the school’s 50th commencement exercise.
Of the 142 graduates, 108 of them secured scholarships, said Paul Gregory, the school’s alumni director, and 98 percent of the class plans to attend college next year.
