1912: Trumbull Steel Co. started making steel on the site.

1928: Republic Steel takes over operations.

1984: LTV Steel assumes control.

1988: WCI Steel is formed when Renco Group of New York buys the mill.

2003: WCI Steel files for bankruptcy court protection.

2006: A group of bondholders assumes control as the company emerges from bankruptcy court.

2008: Severstal, a Russian steelmaker, announces a deal to buy WCI.
