Lordstown Industrial Park expansion halted by wetland issues

Monday, March 24, 2008

LORDSTOWN — A proposed expansion of Lordstown Industrial Park has been put on hold because of wetland issues.

The owner, Henn Development, had filled a small wetland and performed some work on another wetland without permits, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said. Work has been halted, and the company has filed for permits, the Corps said.

Ron Barnhart, Lordstown planning and zoning administrator, said he has written a letter to the Corps in support of Henn’s project at the industrial park.

The Corps is accepting public comment until April 8. Responses can be made by calling (412) 395-7115.
