Injured in ATV accident

BLOOMFIELD — A 45-year-old North Bloomfield man was seriously injured when he overturned his four-wheel, all-terrain vehicle along state Route 87 early Thursday. Anthony M. Mullen was in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. The hospital did not have a condition, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Southington said he had serious injuries.

The patrol said Mullen was driving a four-wheeler east along Route 87, west of state Route 45, shortly after 1 a.m., when he lost control, veering off the left side of the road where it overturned in a ditch. Mullen was not wearing a helmet, but he had one available, the patrol said.

Austintown thefts

AUSTINTOWN — Police investigated two thefts within two minutes of each other Wednesday afternoon. A resident of Rhode Island Drive reported Wednesday afternoon that she discovered a laptop computer missing from her home after a friend who had been staying with her left the residence. She valued the computer at about $1,000.

About the same time about a mile away, police received a call from a Woodland Trace resident who reported that someone had used a tool to break into his residence through a garage door. The person ransacked two bedrooms and took six jars of coins, the resident said.

Judge revokes bond

WARREN — Bond has been revoked on a 19-year-old man who skipped court Tuesday, after police used a Taser to subdue him while in the living room of his home on St. Patrick’s Day.

Shaun Evans, 19, of Brier Street, posted a $9,000 surety bond Monday morning after his arrest on charges of failure to comply with the order of a police officer, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, driving under a suspended license and driving while impaired. During his arrest, police fired a Taser into his chest to stun and subdue him.

He failed to show up for his hearing Tuesday, and Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak issued an arrest warrant. Police arrested Evans on Wednesday, and Judge Ivanchak revoked his bond. He is in the Trumbull County Jail.
