Chapter of ABWA picks Woman of the Year

YOUNGSTOWN — The ABWA Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of Mahoning County met March 12 at Rusty’s and announced its Woman of the Year, Elena Nigro.

She has been a very active member of the chapter for 24 years and has been vice president twice and treasurer. She also has been on many of the chapters’ committees to help raise money for scholarships for young women to attend Youngstown State University.

Nigro is employed by Sears, where she has worked 27 years. She immigrated to the United States from Italy when she was 9.

She is married to Patsy Nigro and has three children, Carrie, Anthony and Dominic.
