Sparks 84, Shock 81
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Candace Parker scored 21 points and DeLisha Milton-Jones added 19 before both were ejected after a scuffle in the final minute. The game turned ugly in the final seconds as a collision between Parker and Detroit’s Plenette Pierson turned into a shoving match that saw players and coaches from both teams leave the bench. Shock assistant coach Rick Mahorn, who was involved in the Pistons-Pacers brawl on Nov. 19, 2004, as a Detroit broadcaster trying to break up the fight, appeared to shove Lisa Leslie to the floor at one point. Parker, Milton-Jones, Pierson and Mahorn were all ejected, while Detroit’s Cheryl Ford left the floor on a wheelchair after getting injured while trying to restrain Pierson.
Sky 68, Fever 60
CHICAGO — Candice Dupree had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Chicago over Indiana. Jia Perkins had 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Sky (8-15), which won for the third time in five games after losing its previous four. Chasity Melvin added 13 points and seven rebounds while Quianna Chaney scored 11 for Chicago.
Storm 76, Lynx 73
MINNEAPOLIS — Sue Bird scored 22 points, Swin Cash added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Seattle locked down two of the league’s top scorers. Seimone Augustus and Candice Wiggins helped the Lynx surge back from a 17-point deficit midway through the third quarter, but Augustus shot 3-for-16 from the floor and finished with 10 points. Wiggins went 3-for-11 and had 14 points — including eight free throws.
Monarchs 79, Dream 66
ATLANTA — Scholanda Robinson scored a career-high 17 points to lift Sacramento to its fifth straight victory. Rookie Laura Harper had a career-high 12 rebounds in the afternoon game attended by several summer youth clubs. Atlanta, losers of three straight, dropped to a league-worst 3-22. Ivory Latta and Kasha Terry each scored 15 points for the Dream.
