Crash blocks I-680 on ramp at Meridian Road

AUSTINTOWN — The entrance ramp to Interstate 680 north is blocked at Meridian Road by a cement truck that rolled onto its side while negotiating the ramp. The driver had to be cut out of the crushed cab and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. There was no report on the condition of the driver, Frank Trott, who was driving for City Concrete.The crash occurred a1 1:10 p.m. the highway patrol said. Meridian Road eastbound is also closed at that intersection. It’s uncertain when the roads will be reopened.
