Rosary, Mass for guild

STRUTHERS — Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will meet Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., for the rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10.

Service for reunion

WARREN — The 40th annual reunion of families of Crenshaw County, Ala., will be marked Thursday through next Saturday in the city. A service is planned at 6 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main St., with a speaker, the Rev. Archie D. McMillion, pastor of Because of Him Ministry. The Rev. Dr. Frank L. Hearns is host pastor.

Choir day planned

YOUNGSTOWN — The youth and young adult choir of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave., will celebrate their annual day during a service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The choir will minister the music and Elder Christopher McKee will minister the word. Elder McKee is a pastoral intern at the Mount Aery Baptist Church of Bridgeport, Conn. In the fall, he will spend a semester at Cambridge University in England as he prepares for graduation from Yale Divinity School in May of 2009.

Gospel program

COLUMBIANA — Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, 14550 New Buffao Road, will host a performance by The Pathfinders, a Southern Gospel trio from North Carolina, at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Jesus family reunion

NORTH JACKSON — Victory Harvest Ministries, 13243 Palmyra Road, will hold a Jesus family reunion from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. next Saturday. The event includes singing, preaching, fellowship and special guests Glorybound and Kara Toney.

Participants are asked to bring a covered dish, lawn chairs and monetary or item donations for the food bank. A raffle will be held with proceeds to benefit the food bank. The ministries has this event every third Saturday. For more information, call Karen Pyles at Victory at (330) 538-3019.

Feast Day Mass set

NILES — Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 381 Robbins Ave., will have a special Feast Day Mass at 3 p.m. Wednesday with Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown. There will be a procession around the church.

Family, friends day

YOUNGSTOWN — After the morning worship service Sunday, the annual family and friends day of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 797 Arlington St., will be at Chestnut Ridge Park, 6486 Chestnut Ridge Road S.E. Participants are asked to take covered dishes.

Guest speaker

EAST PALESTINE — The Rev. Dan Schomer, general presbyter of Eastminster Presbytery, will be guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service of First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St.

Pastoral anniversary

FARRELL, Pa. — Greater Pentecostal House of Prayer, 725 Fruit Ave., will mark the ninth anniversary of its pastor and co-pastor, Keith and Letisha Banks. The Rev. Melvin Morris of Greater Morris Chapel will speak at 5 p.m. today. On Sunday, the Rev. Walter Stewart of Greater Pentecostal will speak at 11 a.m. and Bishop Stanley K. Smith, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Meadville, Pa., will speak at 5 p.m.

Revival planned

WARREN — Pastor Myron Henderson of New Life Church of God in Christ, Henderson, N.C., will preach at a revival planned at 7 p.m. Friday, next Saturday and July 20 at Greater Progressive Church of God in Christ, 1704 Milton S.E. Host pastor is James Jordan.

Flame Fellowship

BOARDMAN — Greater Youngstown Chapter of Flame Fellowship, an interdenominational ministry, will meet July 21 at Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park. Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the ministry at 7. Guest speaker will be Yelixa “Jelli” Davis.

Celebration service

YOUNGSTOWN — Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliffe Ave., will host a celebration to honor the 12 years of pastoral services of the Rev. Lewis W. Macklin II at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Dr. Morris W. Lee and the congregation of the Third Baptist Church will be among special guests.

The theme, “The Steps of a Good Man,” reflects the honoree’s commitment to church and community. He serves as co-convener of the Martin Luther King Celebration Planning Committee, chairman of ACTION’s Clergy Caucus, president of Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and a member of Youngstown Police Department Chaplain Corps.

Mr. Macklin is vice chairman of Mahoning County Children Services Board. He was recently appointed to Mahoning County High School Board, the area’s newest alternative community school.

He is married to the former Dorothy Felder.
