R&J Trucking grabs lead before rain delays Class B


Rondinelli Tuxedo has the lead in a delayed Little b contest.

STRUTHERS — Both Class B League and Little b playoff games were washed out by rain Tuesday at Cene Park.

In Class B, R J Trucking took a 4-0 lead over Astro Falcons in the top of the fourth inning and was still batting in the opener of the best-of-5 series.

The teams will resume play today at 6 p.m. at Cene 1 and will then play game two.

In Little b, Rondinelli Tuxedo was leading 4-0 over Astro Falcons in the bottom of the fifth inning in game one of the best-of-five series. They will resume that contest today at Cene 2 at 6 p.m. with game two to follow.

Class AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Roth Brothers pounded out 14 hits and scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning then coasted to a 9-4 victory over Youngstown Metros Monday at Oakland Field.

Joe Bettura, Mike Sikorski, Rob Tamburro and Dan Bertolini had two hits apiece for Roth Brothers.

Armani Johnson hit a double and single for the Metros, while Dom Modarelli hit a pair of singles.

Allegheny 4, Youngstown Metros 3

YOUNGSTOWN — A two-run sixth inning was the difference for Allegheny in the Tri-State Collegiate game Sunday at Pemberton-Donnell Park.

Sam Holland, Tim Schillaci and Joe Treitle each had two hits for Allegheny. Eric Pirts hit a double and single and Anthony Porter two singles for Youngstown Metros.
