Scrappers finish homestand with 6-1 win

NILES — Russell Young pitched five strong innings and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers broke the game open with a three-run third inning to defeat the Auburn Doubledays, 6-1, Tuesday night at Eastwood Field.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Scrappers, who head to Staten Island, N.Y., for the start of a six-game road trip tonight.
