Time is running out to see “American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell” at the Akron Art Museum. This immensely popular exhibition of one of America’s most beloved artists closes Sunday. Museum hours have been extended to 9 tonight, Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. k

The world’s best dirt bike racers make their first visit to Youngstown when Toyota Arenacross comes to Chevrolet Centre. Racing is at 7:30 tonight and Saturday, with a scaled down show involving local riders at noon Sunday. Tickets range from $6 for children to $24, and are available at the Chevy Centre box office and all gettix.net locations.

“The Last Five Years,” a dinner-theater production, opens its run at 6:30 p.m. at Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane (off Glenwood Avenue). Additional shows will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Call (330) 788-8739 for tickets.

Greenville Symphony Orchestra performs in concert at 3 p.m. at Passavant Center on the Thiel College campus, Greenville, Pa.; (724) 588-6083.

A Mardi Gras-themed brunch and concert by pianist Randall Fusco begins at 11:30 a.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Christman Memorial Hall. The hall is at 5000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. For tickets, call (330) 747-5175.

The W.D. Packard Concert Band presents “Musicals, Marches and American Dances Too” at 3 p.m. at Packard Music Hall. Donald W. Byo is the conductor and Kent L. Engelhardt, jazz professor at the Dana School of Music, will be the special soloist on alto saxophone. Engelhardt has toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and is the sax section leader of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. The concert is free.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ben E. King had a series of hits in the ’60s, including “Stand By Me” and “There Goes My Baby.” King will accompany the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra in concert at 8 p.m. Feb. 9 at Powers Auditorium as guest vocalist. For tickets, call (330) 744-0264.

Five By Design is a unique ensemble that combines skits, comedy and music in its show. The group takes a musical journey to the early days of television in its latest production, titled “Stay Tuned,” which comes to Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., Warren, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12.
