YOUNGSTOWN — Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley is inviting armchair sleuths and amateur detectives to help solve a crime to be perpetrated during a mystery dinner theater gala to be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Byzantine Center at the Grove, 3801 Shady Run Road.

Written by Eileen Moushey, “The Curse of the Hopeless Diamond” will be an audience participation production, presented by local actors who will provide clues leading to the solving of the crime.

There will also be a silent auction for such things as a three-hour yacht cruise on Lake Erie, stained-glass art and other gifts. The buffet menu will include salad, green beans almondine, garlic whipped potatoes, penne pasta with marinara sauce, stuffed chicken breast, rolls and desserts. A cash bar will be available.

Tickets for the dinner and dance are $40 per person, and proceeds will support the school. For more information or to reserve tickets, call (330) 788-4622.
