A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman and Poland:
BOARDMAN
Jan. 25
Aggravated menacing: A Mayflower Drive woman told police a man threatened over her cell phone to rape and kill the accuser’s teenage daughter.
Theft: Two Youngstown men, 21 and 27, faced theft charges. Both were accused of stealing $131 worth of tools from Sears in Southern Park Mall.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Cook Avenue man discovered someone damaged his vehicle’s dashboard, apparently in an attempt to remove an in-dash radio/compact-disc player. Stolen was $3.
Theft: Police arrested a 65-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after $171.76 worth of groceries was stolen from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 51, faced several charges after being accused in the theft of a T-shirt from Spencer Gifts in Southern Park Mall. He was charged with three counts of receiving stolen property and one count each of theft and carrying a concealed weapon; the man also had CDs, DVDs and other merchandise that had been stolen from three other stores, as well as a large folding knife, police said.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: A Wildwood Drive man discovered 10 to 15 checks missing, and that his automated-teller-machine card was used to make two unauthorized transactions.
Bad checks: A worker for Check ’n’ Go, 7375 Market St., told authorities someone wrote three checks totaling $912.50 that were returned on a closed account.
Jan. 26
Arrest: After pulling over a driver near McClurg Road, police charged the passenger, a 28-year-old Boardman woman, with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct when, they said, she refused to cooperate and became combative.
Domestic violence: A 33-year-old Paxton Road man was charged after a family member reported being a victim.
Theft: An 18-year-old Youngstown man was charged, accused in the theft of $63.20 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Misuse of a credit card: A Boardman man found on his check-cashing card $350 worth of unauthorized charges that had been made from various locations in Boardman, Youngstown and Austintown.
Theft: A Boardman boy’s $139 cell phone was stolen while he was at a McClurg Road business.
Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 18, was picked up on Doral Drive and charged with probation violation and having no operator’s license.
Theft: Three 12-year-old girls, two from Lisbon and one of East Palestine, were charged. The three were accused of stealing three hoodies and two sweat shirts, costing the JCPenney store in Southern Park Mall about $180.
Theft: A man discovered his son’s $250 MP3 player was stolen from the boy’s gym locker at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St.
Domestic violence: A 27-year-old Clifton Drive man was arrested at his residence on two counts of domestic violence after a family member’s two daughters reported having been victims. The man also faced three counts of assault on a police officer and one count each of obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
Jan. 27
Domestic violence: A 61-year-old man was taken into custody at his Canavan Drive residence and charged after his girlfriend said the man threatened her.
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man found $258 worth of unauthorized charges had been made from Southern Park Mall with his credit card.
Theft: A woman at a Shadyside Drive residence discovered a leather jacket, a wallet and a change purse missing from her car.
Felonious assault: A Boardman boy, 17, faced charges of felonious assault and domestic violence after officers responded to a fight between family members in the 4000 block of South Avenue. His father alleged the teen pointed a pair of scissors and threatened to stab him; his brother alleged the boy punched him several times in the head and stomach.
Theft: Authorities took into custody two Boardman boys, 12 and 13, on theft charges after a Meadowbrook Avenue man said he saw them remove a $100 bicycle from his front porch.
POLAND
Jan. 23
Identity theft: A Hamilton Avenue woman found two days’ worth of fraudulent withdrawals totaling $1,206 had been made from her account.
Jan. 24
Domestic violence: After receiving a hang-up 911 call, police arrested a 51-year-old Poland man at his home on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest when his girlfriend alleged the man, during an argument, struck her and dragged her by the shirt through several rooms in their home.
Jan. 26
Drugs: Officers stopped a vehicle near U.S. Route 224 and Audubon Lane, where they took a Warren man, 30, into custody on charges of possession of marijuana and driving under suspension. A suspected marijuana pipe and suspected marijuana seeds were found, police said.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: A Lemont Drive woman checked her account balance online and saw that four unauthorized transactions totaling $281.74 had been made from Mexico with her information.
Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 led to a 28-year-old Manchester, N.Y., man’s being summoned on a charge of permitting an unlicensed person to drive a motor vehicle. The man knew the car’s driver had a suspended license but let her drive anyway, the report said.
Drugs: Officers responded to a Delaware Avenue residence regarding a missing juvenile before arresting the 16-year-old boy on a charge of trafficking in drugs. His parents alleged the teen sold 80 of their prescription pills without consent.
