NILES — Roselyn Watson was re-elected president of Niles Historical Society at the organization’s Jan. 12 membership meeting. Also re-elected as her associate officers were Mary Ream, vice president; Nancy Malone, recording secretary; Betty Whitney, corresponding secretary; Ruth Van Huffel, treasurer; and Frank Burke, assistant treasurer.

Continuing to serve as trustees will be Burke, Fred Kubli Jr. Anne Townley and Jessie Scott, former presidents of the society.

Tentative plans were made for a spring dinner and membership meeting to be held April 30 and for a Heritage Day observance on Aug. 3.

An open house will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Ward-Thomas House and Museum, 503 Brown St., where docents will conduct tours. Future open house events will take place the first Sunday of each month. To arrange a group tour at other times, call (330) 544-2143.

Regular meetings will be held by the society at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month in the museum’s Westenfield Room.
