Austintown home damaged by fire

Monday, January 21, 2008

AUSTINTOWN — A fire at 5:30 a.m. today at 4220 Burkey Road caused about $65,000 damage to the home and $5,000 to $10,000 damage to contents said Assistant Fire Chief Andy Frost III. The fire, still under investigation, started in the front of the residence. No one was home at time; the house is being renovated, he said.

Frost said firefighters were at the scene about three hours and were hampered slightly by the low temperatures, which caused hose lines to freeze up and tools to break.
