MEN

Ohio Northern 77, Mount Union 76

ADA — Kurtis Brown made two free throws with 91 seconds remaining to give Ohio Northern (14-11, 10-8 Ohio Athletic Conference) the win. Kyle Meyer scored a career-high 26 points for the Polar Bears. Chris Switzer shot 11-for-18 including 5-for-8 from 3-point land to score 29 points for the Purple Raiders (9-16, 6-12).

Oberlin 76, Hiram 73

OBERLIN — Mike Loll scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds for Oberlin (5-20, 4-12 NCAC). Hiram jumped ahead 35-24 at the break but couldn’t hold the advantage. Mike McDevitt (Lisbon), Mike Staley, Ian Pfouts and Glenn Campbell scored 16, 11, 11 and 10 points respectively for Hiram (8-17, 5-11).

Walsh 95, Wilberforce 66

CANTON — The Cavaliers concluded regular season 24-4, 12-2 AMC South. Corey Jones scored 18 points including 12 before the break and Brandon Weems had 18 of his 21 points in the second half for sixth-ranked Walsh. Jones has made 24 of 35 3-point goal tries in the last four games. Wilberforce is 8-20, 2-12.

Washington & Jefferson 73, Bethany 70

BETHANY, W. Va. — W&J used a massive second half to register the win. The Bison (15-10, 9-3) led 42-29 at half before the Presidents (12-13, 8-4) outscored them 44-28 in the second half. Wahab Owolabi and Josip Lucic-Jozak evenly split 42 points for the Presidents. For the Bison, who are celebrating 100 years of basketball, Brody Jackson scored 29 points. He made half of his 24 shots. Carey Palermo (Ursuline) had four assists to lead Bethany.

Shippensburg 69, Slippery Rock 48

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Ryan Kraft had 18 points for the winners (7-19, 1-10 PSAC). Jamar Scales paced The Rock (7-18, 4-6) with 10 points.

WOMEN

Ohio Northern 69, Mt. Union 58

ALLIANCE — Erin Brand scored 25 points to pace the Polar Bears (19-6, 14-4 OAC). For Mount Union (9-16, 6-12), Tessa Pohovey scored 14 points and Alicia Williams had 10 more.

Ohio Wesleyan 94, Hiram 48

DELAWARE — Eleven players broke into the scoring column and 15 saw action for Ohio Wesleyan (17-7, 12-4 NCAC). Kayla Gordon scored 15 points in 13 minutes of competition for OWU, while Steffi Graf (Poland) contributed 10 points, two rebounds and two steals. After staying close for a half (49-30), Hiram (5-19, 3-13) was out-scored 45-18 in the final 20 minutes. Stephanie Zunic (Canfield) scored 11 points for the Terriers.

Walsh 88, Wilberforce 66

CANTON — Freshman Katie Berry scored 13 of her 17 points in the first half as the Cavaliers (13-15, 5-9 AMC South) took a 46-26 lead at intermission. The Cavaliers led by as many as 28 points in the second half over Wilberforce (5-21, 1-13). Cara Bedard added 15 points off the Walsh bench. Walsh finished regular season with eight more wins than last season (5-21).

California (Pa.) 71, IUP 69

INDIANA, Pa. — With the game tied at 69-69 and four seconds remaining, Shaquetta Mance made two free throws to win it. Mance scored 33 points and Lindsay Johnson (Springfield Local) had six points and five rebounds for California (20-5, 7-3 PSACW). IUP (23-3, 8-2) got 19 points from Kylie Miller.

Westminster 66, Geneva 61

BEAVER FALLS, PA. — Emilee Ackerman shot 9-for-17 from the field and 19-for-24 from the foul line to collect 37 points for the Titans (15-10). Ackerman rebounded 12 times. Gina Brunetti (Mooney) supported the Titan attack with seven points. Allyson Clarke scored 24 points and had 15 rebounds for Geneva (20-5).

Shippensburg 62, Slippery Rock 44

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Lauren Beckley paced a balanced attack with 13 points for Shippensburg (18-8, 6-5 PSAC). KellyAnn Staudinger scored 14 points for Slippery Rock (7-18, 1-9).

Washington & Jefferson 66, Bethany 50

BETHANY, W. Va. — Emily Hays was in with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Presidents (19-6, 11-3). The Bison (15-10, 10-4) got 18 points from Kelly Goode.
