AUSTINTOWN — Sophomore Jillian Halfhill made 6-for-6 from the free-throw line within the final 1:40 to help Canfield High surge from a 30-30 tie to a 36-30 win over Salem Saturday afternoon in the girls Division II district basketball tournament championship game at Austintown Fitch gym.
Canfield advances to the regional tournament at Barberton High School, where the Cardinals will play Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. against either Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary or Canal Fulton Northwest.
