RANDY SMITH

Age: 40.

Hartford.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Youngstown State University, associate degree of applied science in surveying and construction engineering from University of Akron and science in surveying and mapping degree from Akron.

Employment: Deputy engineer at Trumbull County Engineer’s Office.

Family: Single.

Priority: Providing safe roads and bridges to county residents without seeking additional tax revenue.

DAVID DECHRISTOFARO

Age: 51.

Home: 1640 Sunny Estates Drive, Niles.

Employment: The Cafaro Co., vice president of engineering and development.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1978 from YSU; master’s degree in business administration from YSU, 1983.

Family: Wife, Becky; daughter, Lindsey.

Priority: Restore the county engineer’s status as an agent of the state to manage federally funded projects, a status terminated in 2007 by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
