YSU probable starters: Macey Nortey, 5-3 freshman guard (6.8 points per game), 2.4 rebounds per game); Kelsey Gurganus, 5-8 senior guard (5.1 ppg., 2.8 rpg.); Jaquetta Westley, 5-7 junior guard (6.3 ppg., 2.9 rpg.); Tiara Scott, 6-0 senior forward (10.4 ppg., 5.3 rpg.); Nikita LaFleur, 6-2 senior center (9.1 ppg., 8.8 rpg.). Game notes: The Penguins have dropped five straight after a 56-38 loss at Canisius on Wednesday night. YSU was held to its lowest point output of the season and again turnovers hurt the Penguins. YSU shot better from the field than the Griffs, who came into the game as one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the country, but were just 2-for-22 against the Penguins. Akron snapped a three-game losing streak on Wednesday, with an 82-75 victory at home against Robert Morris. The Zips have yet to win this year on the road in three contests. Series: This will be the 47th meeting between the two schools, with the Penguins holding a 35-11 advantage in the series. YSU defeated the Zips last year 74-56 in Akron, while the Zips won 66-56 when the teams last met at Beeghly Center in 2006-07. YSU has won three of the last four meetings. Up next: The Penguins will go back on the road for their next three games. They will wrap up non-conference play on Dec. 30 at Toledo in a 7 p.m. tip off. They open Horizon League play at Valparaiso on Jan. 3, followed by a Jan. 5 trip to Butler.
