MERCER COUNTY Sentencings


These people were sentenced last week in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. According to court documents:

Brian Graham, 48, of Shippenville, Pa., placed on one year’s probation for unlawful possession of cocaine, a misdemeanor. On Sept. 7, 2007, he was apprehended on Broadway and Mercer Avenues, Wheatland, with small amounts of cocaine.

Leslie Keller, 19, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, placed on one year’s probation for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. While a student at Farrell High School on Oct. 31, 2007, he interfered with a police officer who was breaking up a fight between two other students. He struck, pushed and swore at a Southwest Mercer County Regional Police officer while he was being arrested.

Omar McCurdy, 21, formerly of Fruit Avenue, Farrell and now of the Mercer County Jail, sentenced to 18 to 36 months in prison for felony escape. On Dec. 14, 2007, while an inmate at the Mercer County Jail, he failed to return after a six-hour job search furlough.

Dennis Thompkins, 29, formerly of Walnut Avenue, Sharon, and now of the Mercer County Jail, sentenced to six to 20 years in prison for felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor count of cocaine possession. On Oct. 25, 2007, he told a woman during a domestic incident at the Walnut Avenue address, “Tonight you are going to die.” He pointed a gun at her and choked her into unconsciousness. When apprehended, he possessed cocaine.

Sean Waller, 35, formerly of College Avenue, Grove City, sentenced to one to two years in prison for failure to comply with registration of sexual offenders requirements, a felony. He failed to register with Pennsylvania State Police when he moved in January to Grove City although he is registered as a violent sex offender in Tennessee. He was convicted in Tennessee of aggravated sexual battery against a boy under 13.

Felicia Wilder, 38, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, ordered to make restitution for resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. On Aug. 21, 2007, she punched a Southwest Mercer County Regional Police officer in the face and scratched him with her fingernails while officers tried to arrest her.

Robert Grimm, 42, of North Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, placed on three years’ probation and ordered to make restitution for criminal mischief, a felony. On Nov. 18, 2007, he removed the furnace and air conditioner from a 15th Street, Sharpsville, residence without the owners’ permission, causing $5,200 damage.

James Morrow, 48, of Hann Hill Road, Hermitage, sentenced to six days to one year in jail, then paroled for simple assault, a misdemeanor. On Nov. 10, 2007, at a Hann Hill Road residence, he pointed a rifle at a woman and a man, threatened to kill them, fired a gun in the air, grabbed and shoved the woman and hit the man in the chest several times.

Danny Nale, 27, of Parke Drive, Hermitage, sentenced to six months to two years in jail for a consolidated count of aggravated assault, a felony. On Oct. 2, 2007, he became belligerent when he saw Hermitage police officers arresting his brother and kicked, punched and spit blood at Officers Todd Saylor, Adam Mild and Dennis Best while being placed under arrest at his residence.

Donald Nale, 23, of Hubbard-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex, sentenced to two months to two years in jail for simple assault and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, and public drunkenness, a summary offense. On Oct. 2, 2007, he pushed, shoved and kicked Hermitage police officers while they were trying to arrest him at a Parke Drive, Hermitage, residence.

Susan Reppart, 41, of Emerald Lane, Grove City, placed on one year’s probation and ordered to make restitution for a consolidated misdemeanor count of bad checks. She passed seven bad checks totaling $425 in October and November 2007 to various merchants in Grove City.
