2 Trumbull women on probation for Pa. crimes

MERCER, Pa. — Two Trumbull County women were placed on probation for committing crimes in Mercer County.

A judge from Mercer County Common Pleas Court placed Melissa Peterson, 30, of James Lane, Girard, on probation for 18 months on a charge of endangering the welfare of children.

According to court documents, on Feb. 27, 2007, she left her two children, ages 5 and 10, home alone at an Ohio Street, Sharon, address and did not feed them before leaving.

Clara Roth, 48, of Rose Street, Masury, was placed on 18 months’ probation and ordered to make restitution for theft by unlawful taking and possession of instruments of crime and criminal trespass.

On Oct. 13, 2007, she entered Route 18 Auto Wrecking, 4287 New Castle Road, Shenango Township, by cutting and opening in a chain-link face and took three catalytic converters valued at $315.

When apprehended, she had an 18-volt battery-powered saw with 12 blades and a high-lift jack.
