South Range has easy time over East Liverpool

NORTH LIMA — Alex Baker and Joe Stephenson each scored two goals and led South Range past East Palestine, 7-2, in a boys soccer game Monday.

Andrew Edwards, Nathan Lotze and Andy Lacefield each added one goal, while Baker had two assists and Jordan Baker, Joel Skidmore and Lacefield each had one assist. Goalie Luke Yeagley added eight saves for the Raiders.

Howland 3, Champion 3

HOWLAND — Champion battled back from a 3-0 deficit midway through the second half to tie Howland. The Flashes scored their final goal with 22 seconds left in the game.

Cameron Francis, Connor Gilmour and Nick Giannakos all scored one goal for the Tigers (1-1-1), while David Palm, Dakota Couilter and Tyler Day all scored for the Flashes.

Eric Albani, Ryan Gerin and Scott Heinemann all had assists for Howland, while goalie Dan Miller added eight saves. Josh Rable had an assist for Champion and goalie Brent Barbe added nine saves.

Columbiana 3, Crestview 3

COLUMBIANA — Eric Kissel scored all three goals as Columbiana battled to a tie with Crestview.

Greg Bing, Justine Kleinknecht and Jake Mellinger each scored one goal for the Rebels (1-1-1), while Jasun Baker, Seth DuMoulin and Nate Norris all had assists.

Eric Stryffler and Josh Harold each had an assist for the Clippers (1-1-1).

Girls

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Allyson Berry and Alexis Zubick each scored three goals as Springfield won its third straight game beating Crestview, 8-0.

Anna Chapella and Amber Uscianowski each added a goal, while Uscianowski had three assists and Berry had two assists. Other assists came from Jacyln Pacaka (two) and Briana Mincher. Goalie Heather Cozak had 10 saves for the Tigers.

West Branch 1, Fitch 0

AUSTINTOWN — Jordan Manser of the Warriors (3-0) scored the only goal on an assist from Emily Rekolt with 5 minutes, 11 seconds remaining in the first half.

Fitch had 26 shots on goal, compared to three for West Branch. Tami Pelleman had 17 saves for the Warriors. Kacie Donahue had two saves for the Falcons (1-2). JVs: West Branch 2-1.

Boardman 2, Poland 1

POLAND — Jaime Abona scored both goals for the Spartans (1-1) in the second half. The first one was unassisted with 16:23 remaining. She got an assist from Kristy Lake on the second one with 32 seconds remaining.

Tatum Marucci scored the goal for the Bulldogs (0-2) in the first half.

Boardman had 14 shots on goal, compared to 10 for Poland.

Cheyenne Khatib had 10 saves for Boardman and Stephanie Ciccone had 12 for Poland. JVs: Poland 6-0.
