MERCER COUNTY Court action

These people were sentenced last week to jail or prison time or given probation in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. According to court documents:

Larry Bair, 47, of Daytona, Fla., sentenced to eight days to one year in jail for recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor. On Dec. 24, 2007, he chased another man with his motor vehicle, driving over a street and sidewalk and placing the man in danger of injury or death. The incident occurred at Pine and Grace Streets, Grove City. He also was fined $25 for not stopping immediately after striking a parked vehicle on Grace Street.

Heath Bechtel, 36, of East Avenue, Greenville, sentenced to three to 12 months in the Mercer County Jail and fined $700 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding and recklessly endangering another person, all misdemeanors, as well as driving without lights to avoid identification, three stop sign violations, driving on a one-way roadway and reckless driving, all summary offenses. On Dec. 16, 2007, he used another man’s truck without his permission, then fled from police over Greenville streets. During the chase, he failed to stop for a stop sign on snow-covered roads, placing three pedestrians in danger at Jackson Way and Clinton Street.

Sandra Cupic, 44, of Fifth Avenue, Sharon, placed on two years’ probation for misdemeanor retail theft. On Jan. 8, 2008, she took $121 worth of fishing equipment, then gave it to a clerk and asked for a refund, creating the impression that she had paid for the merchandise.

Michael Dahle, 28, of Oil City, Pa., placed on one-year probation for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. On May 5, 2007, while he was supposed to be supervising two children, one 11 months and a 4-year-old, he left them unsupervised on a front porch on Cedar Avenue, Sharon for 30 minutes. Sharon police located him upstairs in the residence and “highly medicated.”

Joshua Glancy, 26, of Orchard Street, Sharon, sentenced to 111‚Ñ2 to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail followed by two years’ probation for felony criminal trespass for the Nov. 25, 2007, burglary of a residence on Valley View Road, Clark.

Richard Grimm, 42, of 15th Street, Sharpsville, placed on one-year probation for a misdemeanor violation of the Pharmacy Act. On July 9, 2007, he made copies of prescriptions for various drugs and presented copies to a pharmacist at Reynolds Pharmacy, 3676 N. Hermitage Road, Pymatuning Township.

Ralph Sarra, 50, of Southern Boulevard Northwest, Warren, placed on five years’ probation for criminal conspiracy to commit access device fraud, a felony. In November or December 2007, he and a co-conspirator used a woman’s credit card to obtain $13,049 worth of copper tubing at a Mohawk Trail, Jackson Township address.

Mark Thompson, 25, of Valley Road, Mercer, sentenced to three to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for simple assault and terroristic threats, both misdemeanors. On Aug. 18, 2007, he pushed, shoved, hit and tackled another man, causing the victim to sustain a broken clavicle and two fractured ribs. The assault took place after a conversation between the two at the Mustang Bar, Grove City.

Robert Vannoy, 43, of Custer-Orangeville Road, Masury, sentenced to 10 days to one year in jail for misdemeanor retail theft and given 10 days credit for time served. He took a laser guide valued at $20 from Wal-Mart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, on Oct. 12, 2007.

Heather Wisnowski, 28, of Fairview Drive, West Middlesex, placed on one-year probation for making false reports, a misdemeanor. On Feb. 19, she falsely reported to Southwest Mercer County Regional Police that a man was trying to kill her and anybody around her in order to get her children, resulting in a lockdown at the West Middlesex Elementary School.

Brad Ruozzo, 24, of Kendis Circle, Youngstown, sentenced to 13 days to one year in the Mercer County Jail and given credit for 13 days already served for theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor. He stole 19 shaving razors valued at $330 on May 19, 2005 from Kmart, 2235 E. State St., Hermitage.
