By the numbers
The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County summer reading program saw increases in three areas this year:
Registration: 5,054 children registered this year, compared with 4,751 in 2007.
Attendance: 15,344 children attended summer reading programs at library branches, compared with 13,759 in 2007.
Circulation: 9,000 more items were checked out in June 2008 than in June 2007, and 10,400 more items were checked out in July 2008 than in July 2007.
