Woman charged in assault on her brother

YOUNGSTOWN— A 19-year-old woman was arrested on charges of domestic violence and felonious assault after an argument with her brother turned violent.

Police arrived at Chasity Hilson’s East Boston Avenue home on the city’s South Side this afternoon to find her and her brother struggling on the floor, covered in blood.

The victim admitted to police that he began punching Hilson in self- defense after she grabbed a knife and swung it at him.

After speaking with both parties, police determined that Hilson was the primary aggressor. She was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center for a bruised left eye, a swollen lip and a bite mark to the left side of her chest. The victim sustained several stab wounds to the face and head.

Hilson is in the Mahoning County Jail.
