YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who helped plan the robbery that resulted in the shooting death of a man has been resentenced to her original term of 21 years to life in prison.

Andrea Kimble, 24, of Green Acres Drive, appeared Friday for resentencing by Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

The sentence consists of 15 years to life for complicity to murder, three years for the gun specification and three years for complicity to aggravated robbery, all to be served consecutively.

Kimble was convicted in the Aug. 16, 2005, robbery and murder of Matthew J. Saunders, 40, of Youngstown, who was shot in the head at Pyatt and Erie streets, where police said he had arranged an encounter with a prostitute.

Earlier this month, Judge Sweeney resentenced Marcus Thomas, 22, of East Warren Avenue, who had pleaded guilty to the robbery and murder of Saunders, to his original 23 years to life sentence. The judge said no new evidence was presented to cause her to deviate from Thomas’ original sentence.

In both the Thomas and Kimble cases, the 7th District Court of Appeals upheld the convictions, but vacated the sentences, saying Judge Sweeney cited an unconstitutional statute at the original sentencings.
