Toney Brothers concert

NORTH LIMA — The Toney Brothers will be in concert at 7 p.m. Friday at North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive. The southern-gospel quartet is based in Tennessee. There will be a free-will offering. A stuffed chicken breast dinner will be from 4:30 to 6:30; the cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 3 to 10 years old.

Taiz prayer planned

VILLA MARIA, Pa. — Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will hold a Taiz prayer service from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Magnificat Chapel. Taiz is a Christian interdenominational prayer form that incorporates music, Scripture and silence. Musicians from the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, Pa., will provide music.

No registration or fee is required; an offering will be accepted.

Ivan Parker in concert

BOARDMAN — Ivan Parker, a southern gospel recording artist, will be in concert at 6 p.m. April 13 at Christ’s Church, 7155 Glenwood Ave. Parker traveled with the southern gospel quartet Gold City for 10 years. They had 19 top-10 hits, including the 1993 southern gospel song of the year from the Gospel Music Association. He began a solo career in 1994 and is featured in the Bill Gaither homecoming video and concert series. Tickets are $15 and are available at the church. Catholic Connection

YOUNGSTOWN — Catholic Connection will have Dinner and Doctrine, an adult faith formation gathering, April 14 at Nancy’s Place, 3650 Shady Run Road. Speaker will be Jim Merhaut, director of religious education at St. Edward Church, and author of “Your Catholic Family: Simple Ways to Share the Faith at Home.” His topic will be “Catholic Faith and Ecology: What Does it Mean to Be Green?” Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. and presentation from 7 to 8. Ministers’ program

YOUNGSTOWN — The Total Praise Choir will sponsor a “Ministers’ Sing Out Program” at 5 p.m. April 13 at Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church, 3120 Winton Ave.

Clergy guests will be the Revs. Johnetta Bonner, Henry McNeil, David Moncrief, Ernest Ellis, Jack Pettis, Eleanore Felder, Mary Ravinel, Clarence Glenn, Kenny Simon, Rick Tigner, Sylvia Jennings and Betty McMillan, minister Aaron Griffen and elders Carmen Bowman and Ernest Walker. The Rev. Yvonne Hobson will be mistress of ceremonies.

Spring revival set

YOUNGSTOWN — Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will have a spring revival next week.

Sessions, all at 7 p.m., will be: Wednesday, Pastor Frank Hearns of Second Baptist Church in Warren; Thursday, Pastor Judah Early of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Cleveland; and Pastor Avan Odom of Friendship Baptist Church in Warren.

Mass for guild

YOUNGSTOWN — Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will meet April 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Lincoln Park Drive, for the rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10.

Gospel music concert

WARREN — Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave., will present the Mike and Kelly Bowling concert at 7 p.m. Friday. The Bowlings are a gospel music group from Nashville. Doors will open at 6. A free-will offering will be taken.

Healing drum circle

VILLA MARIA, Penn — Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will present a healing drum circle from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the center.

Pat Evans-Morris, a licensed mental health counselor, licensed chemical dependency counselor and national presenter of rhythm therapy and yoga seminars, will lead the program. She has taught drum therapy, dancing and the healing arts for 27 years.

Jesus party scheduled

NEW WATERFORD — East Fairfield United Methodist Church, 45675 state Route, will have a Jesus party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Fun, games, food and fellowship are part of the event for families with special-needs children.

Retreat for women

BOARDMAN — Christian Assembly Church, 5050 South Ave., will have a ladies’ retreat Friday. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a light dinner with the speaker at 7. Walk for children

CLEVELAND — A group of pupils and advisers from Lordstown Christian Church in Warren will participate today in the Cleveland Christian Home’s Walk and Run for the Kids. Adult members of the congregation will have a local Walk and Run for the Kids at 7:30 a.m. today at Eastwood Mall in Niles. David Emerine is coordinator of the area walk. Family and Friends Day

WARREN — Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ, 2165 Highland Ave., will celebrate “Building Successful Families in Difficult Times” during Family and Friends Day at worship Sunday. Services will be at 8:30 and 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m.
