XNILES — Mr. and Mrs. George Mateyko of Niles will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with their family, JoAnn and Dallis Stringer of Girard, George Mateyko Jr. of Vienna, and James and Carlynn Mateyko of Fowler.
They also have six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Mateyko and the former Louise Perko were married Sept. 4, 1937, at Immaculate Conception Church. They moved to Vienna in 1940.
Mr. Mateyko was employed in supervision with General Fireproofing in Youngstown prior to retiring. Afterward, he and his wife operated Lakeview Farm and Greenhouse.
They are members of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church.
