Weapons search at East High turns up pocket knife

YOUNGSTOWN — A folding pocket knife brought to East High School was found during a weapons search at the front door, and two girls fighting in a locker room had to be separated.

The 17-year-old boy who brought the knife (size unknown) to school Tuesday was arrested on a charge of conveyance of a dangerous ordnance onto school property and taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.

The girls, both 14, continued to be loud and disruptive after being separated, police said. They were both issued citations charging them with disorderly conduct and each was released to a parent.
