Leetonia, Reserve, Lowellville finish well

The Bears tied McDonald for the league title.

LEETONIA — Jake Kruegel scored touchdowns on 1, 10 and 1 yards in leading Leetonia High School to a 33-6 victory over Sebring Friday night at the Bears’ stadium.

The Bears (7-3, 6-1) managed to tie McDonald for the Inter Tri-County League Tier Two title as the Blue Devils (8-2, 6-1) lost to Wellsville 14-12.

Kruegel rushed 12 times for 87 yards and Jamie Milsom gained 125 on 10 attempts and he scored on a 4-yard run for the Bears.

Devon Weekly caught a 20-yard TD pass from Kyle Nannah for the Trojans (1-9, 0-7). Nannah connected on 8 of 23 passes for 83 yards.

Southern 35

SALINEVILLE — Shane Ewing’s 8-yard touchdown run with three seconds remaining gave the Blue Devils (6-4, 5-2) back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in 24 years.

Ewing rushed 18 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns, including an 85-yarder. He also completed eight of 20 passes for 164 yards.

Jason Lude rushed 12 times for 100 yards. Justin Lude and Nate Lude caught scoring tosses.

For the Indians (2-8, 2-5), Darren Mills rushed for 143 yards on nine carries and scored twice. Nathan Melhorn gained 121 yards on 20 carries.

Lowellville 29,
Jackson-Milton 12

NORTH JACKSON — Lowellville rushed for 199 yards and had 225 total yards in finishing the season with a 5-5 overall record and 4-3 in the ITCL Tier Two.

The Rockets led 14-12 at halftime and scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to pull away.

Jackson-Milton (1-9, 1-6) finished with 166 total yards.
