Tailgate party set Thursday for first East-Chaney game
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown city schools will sponsor an open tailgate party followed by a Levy Parade from Rayen Avenue to Stambaugh Stadium on Thursday for the first-ever Chaney Cowboys vs. East Panthers football game.
The public is invited to the 3:30 p.m. tailgate in the central administration building parking lot on Rayen Avenue.
The parade, to show support for passage of a 9.5-mill tax levy on Nov. 6, will leave the parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and move up Rayen to Fifth Avenue and on to Stambaugh Stadium at Youngstown State University.
Those who attend the tailgate party will be given passes for admission to the game.
The tailgate will feature refreshments, bands, songs and more, and the public is invited to show their school spirit with shirts, banners and signs. Game time is 7 p.m.
