Shenango brings home a victory over Mohawk

BESSEMER, Pa. — Shenango scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to defeat Mohawk, 28-22, in a Tri-County North game Friday night.

Andrew Watson returned a pass interception 60 yards while Ryan Tanner hit Aaron Maxwell with a 47-yard scoring pass to account for the back-to-back TDs that lifted Shenango (3-5, 3-4 Tri-County North) to the lead. After Watson’s score, Tanner hit Maxwell on the conversion pass.

Mohawk (4-4, 3-4) managed to get eight points in the last quarter on Seth Powell’s 1-yard plunge and Powell’s conversion pass to Travis Schubert. The Warriors led 14-13 at halftime.

Tanner completed seven of 14 passes for 132 yards, while Maxwell caught five passes for 97 yards.

Nick Ludovici rushed for 74 yards in 13 carries and Anthony Koscioskzo 59 yards in six hauls to key Shenango’s ground attack.

Powell led Mohawk with 143 yards passing on 8-for-21, while B.J. Woleslagle rushed for 97 yards in 18 carries and Schubert 58 yards in 12 runs.
