FARRELL, Pa. — The man suspected in the shooting of three Warren residents is considered armed and dangerous.

Southwest Mercer County Regional Police issued an arrest warrant Wednesday afternoon for Jaron “DeDe” West, 19, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell.

He is charged with nine counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Police Chief Riley Smoot said there were nine people inside the Negley Street duplex Tuesday night when a physical fight broke out between West and another person.

“It was a disagreement between two people that turned into a fight and blew up from there,” Smoot said.

Smoot would not comment on the subject of the argument, but said it was not drug-related.

Smoot said the three victims knew the resident but apparently did not know West prior to the shooting.

West is described as 6 feet tall, about 170 pounds with black braided hair, medium complexion and hazel eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at (724) 983-2720.

Derek Thresh, 18, of Warren was shot in the right lower leg and was in satisfactory condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown on Wednesday.

The two other shooting victims were flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Pittsburgh.

Raymond Harrison, 17, was shot once in the right upper shoulder and once inside the right upper arm.

Kevin Daniels, 26, was shot three times, once in the left side of the chest, in the back and in his left arm.

A hospital spokeswoman said it’s UPMC policy to not release the conditions of shooting victims.
