CRAFT SHOWS

• The Community Care Center at Alliance Community Hospital, 205 E. State St., Alliance, will hold a holiday craft show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the main dining room and west activity room. Admission is free. More than 26 vendors will offer a variety of crafts, and proceeds will benefit programs and services provided by the center. For more information contact (330) 596-7575.

SALES

• The UPMC Horizon Oncology Patient Care Fund will host a candle sale from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the lobby of UPMC Horizon’s Greenville campus.

Featured will be handmade soy candles from Apple City Scents Candle Co. of Independence, Pa. Soy candles contain lead-free wicks and burn longer and cleaner than traditional paraffin wax candles.

Proceeds will benefit the Oncology Patient Care Fund and its projects. Established in 1999, the Oncology Patient Care Fund provides emotional comfort and financial support to the hospital’s oncology patients and their families. The fund also supports charitable organizations such as the American Cancer society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Make-A-Wish Foundations.

• Youngstown VA Clinic Volunteers will sponsor a flea market and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 4 at the VA clinic on Belmont Avenue. SPECIAL EVENTS

• A Christmas cookie walk will be held at Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday The cookies are being baked by members of several churches and will be sold by the pound. Specialty items will be individually priced. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County.

• A calendar of activities to which the public is invited is published Monday. Please submit information to the Society Department by 5 p.m. Thursday.
