Sunday, November 25, 2007

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a fire-damaged car that had been involved in a shooting Saturday night on the East Side, but no suspects have been arrested.

Police responded to the corner of Sheehy Street and Lincoln Park Drive, where a woman reported that four men pulled up beside her vehicle about 8 p.m. and fired shots into her car.

Passengers in the car, age 16, 15 and 14, all received minor injuries as a result of the flying glass from the four gunshots, police said.

The car from which the shooting occurred was a blue Buick with Pennsylvania license plates. The victim said the gunshots came from one of the three passengers in the car.

The Buick was located on fire a short time later a short distance away at Hickory Street and North Blaine Avenue, and the fire was extinguished.
