Tips for avoiding gift wrap waste when wrapping presents this holiday season:
Use bows or ribbons instead of wrapping paper on big gifts, such as bikes.
Consider using things around the house as gift wrap: newspaper comics, grocery bags, baby blankets and beach or kitchen towels.
Make and decorate your own reusable gift bags out of pillow cases or holiday-themed fabric.
Give gifts that don’t require wrapping paper, such as game or concert tickets or gift cards.
Iron old wrapping paper that’s still in good condition, then reuse it.
