Thursday, November 22, 2007

MINERAL RIDGE — The Weathersfield school board has voted to put the renewal of a 5.5-mill emergency operating levy on the March 4, 2008 ballot.

The board will ask the Trumbull County Auditor to determine the new millage rate for the measure, which was first passed in November of 2004 as an emergency measure to generate $538,168.

Laurena Ruoan, schools treasurer said she anticipates the millage will be approximately the same.

The board also approved Officer Todd Stitt of the Weathersfield Township Police Department as the district’s Resource Officer for the remainder of 2007-08 on a part-time basis. Stitt will work three days a week at $11.23 an hour.
