BOARDMAN — Police found no weapons at the Woodrow Avenue home of a 16-year-old high school boy who fellow students said had threatened to shoot other students.
Police said they interviewed several students but none had heard a direct threat from the boy. A rumor had circulated in the school last week that the boy had planned to bring a gun to school Monday and shoot students on whose desks or lockers he had affixed Post-It notes.
While students saw the boy placing the notes, no one heard him make a threat, police said. It appears to be a rumor, they said.
Police searched the boy’s house and his father’s car, with the father’s permission, early Monday and found no weapons.
