YOUNGSTOWN — Two arrests have been made in the weekend shooting death of James E. Dow.

Detective Sgt. John Kelty said Edward E. Taylor II, 19, of Youngstown turned himself in to police in Allentown, Pa. late Tuesday night. He is charged with complicity to commit murder.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, 17-year-old D’Metri Lee of Youngstown was arrested at a house on the South Side by Kelty and members of the FBI/Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force.

Lee, who is charged with murder, was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center. Lee, who turns 18 Dec. 7, is a junior at Chaney High School, Kelty said.

The detective credits the work of Patrolman Marc Gillette, task force member, for both arrests.

Dow, 28, of South Lakeview Avenue was found shot to death around 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the basement of 145 Thornton Ave. on the North Side. Kelty said the motive was drugs and robbery. He said there are at least one or two more suspects.
