Open-stage night set at the Oakland

YOUNGSTOWN — Looking for somewhere to take your friends and family who are home for the holidays? The Oakland Center for the Arts will hold an abbreviated Thanksgiving Eve version of The Stage, its open-stage night, from 8 to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

All forms of performance and levels of talent are welcome to take the stage. Acts will perform on a first-come, first-served basis, but will be limited to 10 minutes.

Admission is $5 for attendees and performers. Rehearsal and set-up for bands begins at 7 p.m., which is also when a social hour will begin.

Featured acts will include Dr. Ray’s Amazing Sideshow of Science, author/singer/songwriter Matt Palka, Leonard Cohen Ensemble reunion, and Bullskit Productions. Brooke Slanina will be the host.
